End of Support for Select Aria Operations Management Packs
Since VMware’s acquisition by Broadcom and their decision to discontinue support for selected Management Packs, many users are concerned about the future of IT infrastructure management and monitoring via vSphere Foundation and Cloud Foundation within Cloud Operations (formerly Aria Operations).
What Does the End of Support Mean for Current Management Pack Users?
Out of 39 Management Packs, only 7 have direct replacements. For the others, VMware recommends using the Management Pack Builder tool or developing new MP with the Aria SDK.
The Management Pack Builder offers a no-code solution, but its versatility is limited, making Management Pack creation time-intensive.
Developing MP with the SDK requires programming skills, and we know that many organizations lack both the time and expertise necessary for such development.
